Using celestial themed nursery artwork in children’s rooms is an evergreen idea. Having sun, moon and stars nursery decor is a classic way to share nature and art with your child at the same time.
For instance, you can use scientifically accurate posters and artwork to depict these heavenly bodies, but as an artist I knew I wanted to design something softer. Gentler. Like a lullaby.
Have you ever read a children’s book and been caught up in the magic and imagination of the illustrations?
I certainly have. That’s the idea behind my Whimsical Sky Collection, which includes Peaceful Moon, Dazzling Sunshine and Starry Night Printables.
I designed them to be dreamy. And fiery. Something to ignite the imagination.
You may have celestial artwork of your own. Let’s take a look at a few of the many creative ways you can use star, moon and sun printables and similar art to delight your little one.
Is It a Sunflower…Or Is It a Sunshine?
Fun Fact! There are different kinds of sunshines to spark different imaginations! What a great way to introduce creativity to your sweet boy or girl. As children get ready to draw their own masterpieces, being surrounded by inventive expressions of everyday items will stimulate their own creative juices. Having examples of these hanging in their room lets them ponder expressive ideas every day.
Often, groupings are the easy way to go when using artwork. For example, if you have a wall space that needs more than just 1 piece of framed artwork, look for printable sets or easily create your own with your favorite artwork or quotes. Here’s a great idea for your moon themed toddler room.
Seeing Stars in Your Nursery Decor
This creative stars idea is one of my favorites. This is a super easy way to add some dimension to a shelf or dresser top without needing multiple pieces of artwork.
Find a background print you like (I’m showing you my Starry Night printable) and crop it to fit the frames of your choice.
Add large letters in a pleasing font and keep in mind you’ll need to make the letters smaller than the background so you can see the star print.
Display on a decorative shelf at the height that works best for your space or sit neatly on a dresser or table. You can create the size you need.
Very easy yet adds a lot of dimension to a room.
Sun, Moon and Stars Nursery Decor – A Creative Opportunity
Using sun, moon and star themed nursery decor is a sweet way to add color, conversation, and joy to your little one’s room. Think about the nursery vibe you’re looking for and search for suns, moons and stars that reflect that feeling. With printables you’ll be able to crop, resize, or use your artwork on banners as well as in a standard frame.
